Waiting on God
“Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!”
Psalm 27:14
One of the toughest things in life can be waiting.
Waiting for a spouse.
Waiting for financial stability.
Waiting to get healthy.
Waiting to settle down.
Waiting to find a bigger purpose in life.
We all want quick answers to our prayers and sometimes, we feel down if our prayers are not answered right away.
But I’ve learned in life that this is a great mistake. If God delays an answer, it is for our benefit. He doesn’t want to punish us. He wants something special to happen during the waiting period. A powerful testimony, a stronger faith, a more perfect character. I would not be the woman I am today if I had not waited on God.
Maybe you’re waiting to get married, and God is working on you to become the spouse He wants you to be.
If you’re waiting to find health & healing, there is a wonderful part for you to do while you wait.
And there are times when God might delay the answer to test our faith. To show us what’s really in our hearts. Because waiting for the right thing with the wrong motives is still the wrong thing.
Let’s pray for God’s wisdom to make the right decisions while we wait. It influences our whole future.
If you have made a decision about something and it comes from God, you will have peace. If you don’t have peace, it might not be the right thing God wants you to do.
“To every sincere prayer, an answer will come. It may not come just as you desire, or at the time you look for it, but it will come in the way and at the time that will best meet your need. The prayers you offer in loneliness, in weariness, in trial, God answers, not always according to your expectations, but always for your good.”
